Motion Capture Lab Technician at Imperial College London

Carlie Ede is currently employed as a Motion Capture Lab Technician at Imperial College London since August 2025. Previously, Carlie worked at Vicon from October 2021 to August 2025, serving as both a Sales Enablement Engineer and an Application Engineer focused on Life Sciences and Engineering, as well as a Customer Support Engineer in the same field. In addition to this, Carlie volunteered as a Biomechanist with UK Athletics, providing biomechanics support to coaches and athletes. Earlier experience includes a role as a Research Associate at Loughborough University, specializing in hand alignment and finger extension, and serving as a gymnastics coach at Upstarts Gymnastics and Five Dock Leisure Centre. Carlie holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Sports Biomechanics and has completed various degrees at Loughborough University, including a Master’s and a Bachelor’s in related fields. Additionally, Carlie participated in a software development mid-level accelerator program at Code First Girls in early 2024.
