Julian Melchiorri is an innovative leader in sustainable food technology, serving as the CEO and Founder of Arborea Ltd. since 2016, where a mission is to enhance global food security through advanced cultivation systems, including the world’s first “BioSolar Leaf.” In addition to this role, Julian contributes as a Visiting Tutor for the Innovation Design Engineering program at Imperial College London and RCA, and as a Visiting Mentor for foodtech start-ups at Plug and Play Tech Center. Previous experience includes a position as a Design Engineer at Random International, where Julian worked on high-tech interactive installations, and leadership in R&D and Production Engineering for Catellani & Smith Srl. Julian holds multiple advanced degrees in Innovation Design Engineering from prestigious institutions, including Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art, along with international study experiences in Biomedical Engineering and Industrial Design Technologies.
