Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Imperial Oil

Amir Wazir is a seasoned geotechnical engineer with extensive experience in the mining and environmental sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Imperial Oil since February 2018, Wazir has successfully overseen the construction of significant in-pit infrastructure at Kearl open pit mine. Prior to this role, Wazir was employed at Shell from 2011 to 2018 as the Engineer of Record for various geotechnical projects, demonstrating expertise in managing large-scale dyke and dump constructions. Wazir's earlier career includes a position as Staff Geotechnical Engineer/Team Lead at AMEC E&E and experience at the Environment Protection Agency, where Wazir contributed to foundational analysis for government facilities. Wazir holds a Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
