Claire Wilson has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Claire started their career in 1998 as a Despatcher at NTL Inc and later became a Senior Despatch Router. In 2001, they joined Stockport Heritage Trust as a Volunteer for a year. Concurrently, they also worked at the Museum of Science and Industry, first as a Gallery Assistant and then as a Collections Centre Facilitator. In 2005, Claire joined Imperial War Museums as an Exhibitions Assistant, where they worked for three years before being promoted to Exhibitions and Interpretation Manager. In this role, they were responsible for managing various high-profile exhibitions and finding creative ways to engage visitors through interpretation. Claire also served as an Interim Head of Exhibitions for a brief period in 2012. Claire's most recent position at Imperial War Museums was as an Exhibitions Manager for Special Exhibitions, which they held from 2008 to 2016.

In 1995-1998, Claire attended The University of Salford and completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Visual Arts and Culture.
In 2001-2004, they pursued further studies at the University of Leicester, earning a Postgraduate Diploma in Museum Studies (via Distance Learning).
Claire's interest in the museum and heritage industry led their to pursue an Associateship of Museums Association (AMA) from the Museums Association, which they successfully completed from 2008-2012.
To enhance their project management skills, Claire attended Keys Training in 2012 and obtained the PRINCE2 certification.
Claire's commitment to professional development continued in 2014-2015 when they enrolled in the Greater Manchester Museums Group (GMMG) to develop their leadership development skills.
Additionally, Claire pursued specialized study within the field of museum studies. In 2002, they completed an NVQ, Level 4 Unit with a curatorial strand and a Key Skills, Level 4 Unit in Problem Solving, both from the University of Leicester (via Distance Learning & CHNTO).
In terms of higher education, Claire also pursued a Master of Arts degree in Museum Studies (via Distance Learning) at the University of Leicester in 2007.
