Mike Simnett has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Mike started their career at RSA as an Accounts Technician in 1988 and then moved to Aon, where they worked as a Network Administrator and Accounts Technician. In 1998, they joined Jardine Lloyd Thompson, where they held multiple roles, including Server Support Analyst, Infrastructure Support Analyst, and Infrastructure Team Leader. In 2006, Mike transitioned to HP Enterprise Services as a Wintel Delivery Lead. After four years, they moved to HCL Technologies as a Supervisory ITO Service Delivery I. In 2011, Mike joined Imperial War Museums as an Infrastructure Development Manager and later took on the additional responsibility of Security Manager. Mike then focused solely on Cyber Security and Compliance for the museum group in 2019. Overall, Mike's experience includes infrastructure development, security, server support, network administration, and accounts technician roles.

Mike Simnett attended The City of Leicester School from 1980 to 1987. Mike did not obtain a degree or pursue any specific field of study during this time. In 2011, they also obtained the ITIL V3 Foundation certification, although the institution from which they obtained this certification is unknown.
