Rebecca Newell has a diverse work experience in the field of art and curation. Rebecca started their career as a Curatorial Intern at The Wallace Collection in 2009. From there, they worked as a Curatorial Intern at the Barbican Centre and later as an Arts Curator at Newham New Deal Partnership Ltd. In 2011, Rebecca joined the Cubitt Gallery as a Curatorial Intern and also took on the role of Exhibition Reviewer at this is tomorrow. Rebecca then became a Curatorial Assistant at Drawing Room and an Exhibitions Trainee at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Rebecca's most recent position was at the Imperial War Museums, where they served as the Head of Art starting in September 2017. Prior to that, they worked at the National Army Museum in various roles, including Collections Development and Review Curator and Fine and Decorative Art Collections Dept.
Rebecca Newell obtained their First Class hons. BA degree in History of Art from The Courtauld Institute of Art in 2009. Rebecca continued their education at The Courtauld Institute of Art, completing their MA degree in Curating the Art Museum in 2010.
