Amir Taba has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Amir co-founded and served as the CEO and CTO at DIREK LTD, where they successfully launched three AI-based software product lines and secured significant funding for product discovery and development. Amir also established various internal systems and led teams that delivered award-winning technologies for intelligent building management and location tracking.

In their role as a Senior Data Manager at GlucoRx, Amir pioneered the development of machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms for the "Eostre" non-intrusive Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system. Amir also delivered a prediction module for detecting hypo and hyperglycemia, as well as a highly accurate physical activity recognition system.

Prior to these roles, Amir worked as a Senior Research Fellow and Research Fellow at the 5G Innovation Centre, University of Surrey. During this time, they pursued their research interests in mobile sensing and developed algorithms for mobile phone-centric sensing systems. Amir also served as a Teaching Assistant and undertook a Ph.D. focused on enhancing sensing on portable devices for applications in indoor positioning, augmented reality, and social signal processing.

Amir also has experience as a Project Manager at Shaahin Comm, an Auditor at Talia Communication (RTL) Co., and a Software Engineer at Dade Varz Jooya.

Amir Taba completed their education in a chronological order. Amir obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Isfahan University of Technology, attending from 2004 to 2008. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Mobile Networks and Systems at the University of Essex from 2008 to 2009. Amir then furthered their education by earning a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey, where they studied from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Amir Taba recently obtained the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification, granted by Amazon in November 2022.
