Avionics Electrical Engineer at Impulse Space Propulsion

Nicholas Cahill has a diverse range of work experience in electrical engineering and robotics. Nicholas currently holds the role of Avionics Electrical Engineer at Impulse Space. Prior to that, they were an Electrical Engineering Intern at Anduril Industries.

Nicholas also has extensive experience with the Michigan Mars Rover - Student Project Team. Nicholas served as the Chief Engineer, where they managed and supported the integration of various systems on the rover. Nicholas also served as the Electrical Branch Lead, where they made detailed plans to keep the electrical subteams on track and designed a power converter section of a custom radio PCB. Furthermore, they were the Power Sub-Team Lead, leading a team in providing power to all electronic components on the rover.

Nicholas has also worked at Northrop Grumman as an Electrical Engineering Hardware Intern. Nicholas conducted simulations and analyzed the reliability of RF components, as well as coded the GUI and database for an assembly line.

In addition, Nicholas gained teaching experience as a Robotics Instructor at The IDEAL School of Manhattan.

Nicholas Cahill began their education at The Dalton School in 2005 and completed their high school diploma in 2018. Nicholas then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan from 2018 to 2022. Building on their undergraduate studies, Nicholas went on to pursue a Masters of Science in Engineering in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan from 2022 to 2023.
