Rula Asad is a prominent media professional with extensive experience in journalism and advocacy for women's rights. As a co-founder of the Syrian Female Journalists Network since November 2012, Rula has played a crucial role in connecting female journalists across Syria. Additionally, Rula serves as an executive director and content creator for various organizations, including the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and Women Human Rights Defenders MENA. Rula's expertise is further demonstrated through consultancy roles at International Media Support and previous experience as a freelance journalist with notable organizations such as Deutsche Welle. Rula holds a Master’s degree in Gender Studies from Utrecht University and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Damascus University, alongside ongoing education in international affairs and diplomacy.
