Arnaldur Gauti Johnson has a long history of work experience, beginning in 2000 when they co-founded NordicPhotos, a stock photo agency with operations in Sweden, Norway and Iceland. Arnaldur Gauti was the Managing Director and Co-Founder of this company, which bought several other companies including the Swedish companies IMS Bildbyrå, Mira, Tiofot and Greatshots, GV Press in Norway. In 2010, they became the Owner of Stemning Board Games, where they created, published and sold 4 different board games for the Icelandic market, selling a total of over 30,000 copies. In 2019, they became the CEO and Co-Founder of IMS Vintage Photos, a company that sells original vintage photographs from world-renowned press archives. This company is the largest seller of original photographs in Europe with operations in Reykjavik and Riga, and they use AI technology to bring press photos from the locked archive to the market. Finally, in 2020, they became the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Fotomax, a retail store in Iceland that sells merchandise, gadgets, novelty gifts and provides digitization services for photographs and videos.

Arnaldur Gauti Johnson attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a BA in Economics with Business emphasis. Arnaldur Gauti also attended Verslunarskóli Íslands and Garðaskóli, though no degree or field of study was obtained. Johnson holds certifications from Dale Carnegie, including the Dale Carnegie Course - Class # 8.01, High Impact Presentations Course - Class #1.02, Sales Advantage 1, and Sales advantage # 1.02.
