Juan Avila has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering and project management fields since 2015. In 2015, they worked as a Research Intern at Duke University. In 2016, they were an Operations Engineer Co-Op at BASF, where they quantified, analyzed, and decreased operational downtime for nine reactors, generated weekly asset effectiveness analysis reports, and engineered process optimization opportunities for seven product brands. In 2018, they were a Run Plant Engineer Summer Intern at Dow, where they performed in-depth troubleshooting of 5 polymer products, led design work and meetings for a capital project, and completed the creation of a process monitoring software tool. That same year, they were an Olefins and Utilities Process Engineer Co-op at ExxonMobil, where they spearheaded design work for a project, created a plan to increase propylene distillation unit output, and calculated operating and design conditions. From 2018 to 2019, they worked at ExxonMobil as a Capital Projects Project Manager and Project Engineer. Currently, they are a Project Manager at Imubit.
Juan Avila attended Clemson University from 2014 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
