Jan-Jaap Verhoef, Ph.D.

Jan-Jaap Verhoef, Ph.D. is the founder of Imuno Therapeutics since September 2020. Prior to that, they worked at MSD from September 2018 to August 2020 as the Lead Open-Innovation, where they were responsible for defining and executing the open-innovation strategy. Jan-Jaap also has a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Utrecht University, where they focused on the interaction of complex structures with the immune system. Jan-Jaap has authored 8 scientific papers during their time at Utrecht University. Jan-Jaap co-founded Sustainable Healthcare Challenge in May 2012, which is a platform for sustainable healthcare initiatives. Before that, they co-founded twintipz punt nl in 2007, an online community for Dutch freeskiers. Additionally, they had a traineeship at Vifor Pharma from November 2009 to February 2010.

Jan-Jaap Verhoef, Ph.D. began their education at Christelijk Gymnasium Utrecht, where they obtained a Gymnasium diploma with a focus on Natuur en gezondheid from 2001 to 2007. Following this, they attended Utrecht University from 2007 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Innovation Sciences. Jan-Jaap Verhoef then furthered their education at Utrecht University from 2011 to 2012, where they achieved a Master of Science (MS) degree in Drug Innovation, specializing in pharmaceutical science.

Imuno develops a structure-based discovery engine to identify cancer-specific epitopes that can be exploited by novel therapeutic strategies. Its discovery engine identifies potential cross-reactive epitopes, providing a cohesive link with conventional in-vitro safety studies. It delivers missing information and better guidance to develop safetherapies.
