Bo Schlagel

Bo Schlagel has extensive experience as a User Experience (UX) Designer, with a focus on product development and design. They have worked for various companies and have held roles such as Senior User Experience Designer at In-Situ Environmental, Director of Design at Wethos, UX Designer at Futuredraft, and UX Designer at Catalyst Innovation Partners.

At Wethos, Bo played a key role in building the product and significantly increasing user numbers. They were responsible for establishing various design-related initiatives, such as the product pilot program, user research panel, design system library, and design sprint cadence. Bo also contributed to the design process from prototypes to beta release and beyond.

Before joining Wethos, Bo worked as a UX Designer at Bo Schlagel Design, where they led brand and product development for startups such as tEQuitable, Lune.co, We the Future, and FWD.us. Bo played a crucial role in redesigning key product features, websites, and marketing materials for these companies. They also conducted market research, created wireframes and prototypes, and carried out usability testing.

Prior to that, Bo served as a UX Designer at tEQuitable, a startup where they were responsible for spearheading brand strategy, design, and product feature sets. They designed prototypes and created a comprehensive style guide covering various design elements.

Bo also worked as a UX Designer at FWD.us, where they redesigned a story sharing platform and developed the FightForFamilies.org brand. Additionally, they served as a Project Manager and Content Coordinator at FWD.us, managing and producing digital content for field organizers and leading a national monthly newsletter.

Earlier in their career, Bo worked as a Princeton in Latin America Fellow at the Developing Minds Foundation, volunteering at a reintegration center for former child soldiers. They conducted research, created a report on areas for improvement, and implemented initiatives to address social and life skills development.

Bo also worked as a Communications Assistant and Filmmaker/Researcher at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs. In these roles, they created audio and filmed projects for the institute's website, as well as researched and filmed farmers and farm-workers for a documentary project.

Bo Schlagel completed their Bachelor's degree in Development Studies from Brown University between 2009 and 2013. In 2015, they attended General Assembly to pursue a course in User Experience. Additionally, in 2011, they briefly attended the Rhode Island School of Design for a course in Documentary Film, and the International Honors Program for a course in Urban Development.
