Sean Finan has gained a diverse range of work experiences in the engineering field. Sean started as a Student Intern at Colorado State University in 2016, followed by a role as a Lab Assistant Intern from 2017 to 2018. Sean then worked as a Student Instructor at Colorado State University in 2018, teaching a week-long class at a STEM/CyberSecurity camp.
Sean's next position was as a Programming Intern at CSU Powerhouse from 2018 to 2019. There, they worked with Raspberry Pi microcontrollers to collect windspeed data and transmit it wirelessly for gas leak detection. Sean also utilized LoRa radio modules for data transmission and signal evaluation.
From 2019 to 2021, Sean worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Boulder Environmental Sciences and Technology. In this role, they used SOLIDWORKS to design various parts and housings, including 3D printed test fixtures and satellite payloads. Sean also developed and programmed unique setups to calibrate radiometers and sensors.
Currently, Sean is working as a Production Engineer at In-Situ Environmental, starting in 2021. The specific details of this role are not provided.
Sean Finan attended Colorado State University from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to their degree, they also obtained several certifications. In August 2018, they became a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer through National Instruments. In the same year, in August 2018, they also obtained the Fundamentals of Engineering: Mechanical certification from NCEES. Lastly, in September 2020, they gained the certification of Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional in Mechanical Design from Dassault Systèmes.
