Jérémie Dayan is a full stack software engineer who specializes in migrating APIs. Jérémie has worked on code bases that are five years old, with a team of ten developers. The company used a microservices Flask architecture with 30 APIs, each in its own repository. This organization of code caused problems: time was wasted on PRs for multiple repositories, there were bugs, and it was difficult to share learning between teams. The developer experience became difficult, so they decided to migrate to a monorepository.
During the talk, Jérémie will present the principle of a monorepository, explain how they did the migration in two weeks, and how they overcame the technical challenges they encountered. The goal is to give you an understanding of what to pay attention to if you are considering such a migration, and to provide solutions to improve the developer experience on your projects.
Jérémie Dayan earned their master's degree in Science and Executive Engineering from Mines Paris. Jérémie also holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Novosibirsk State University (NSU). Additionally, they have a certification in Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python from edX.
Jérémie Dayan reports to William Pambrun, Co-founder & CPO. Some of their coworkers include Laure Retru-Chavastel - Product Engineer, Vincent François - Product Engineer, and Hugo Saracino - Product Engineer.
