Oscar Abel Sánchez-Velázquez

Oscar Abel Sánchez-Velázquez is a dedicated researcher and academic with extensive experience in agri-food biotechnology and environmental conservation. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CIATEJ and an Academic Tutor at iNaturalist, Oscar has also held roles as a Visiting Researcher at both Tecnológico de Monterrey and the University of Leeds. Previous positions include Scientific Coordinator at BlueMX Mangrove, A.C., and Head of Natural Heritage Conservation at H. Ayuntamiento de Candelaria. Oscar's research contributions include simulating gastrointestinal digestion systems to investigate the nutritional properties of underutilized foods and participating in projects focused on coastal watershed conservation. Oscar holds a Doctor of Science in Agri-Food Biotechnology, a Master of Science in the same field, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, complemented by an exchange program at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
