Dieter Mortelmans

Dieter Mortelmans is a Senior Researcher at INBO (Research Institute for Nature and Forest) since May 2012, focusing on the BESAFE project. Previously, Dieter worked as a Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 2011 to May 2012, contributing to the VOTES project that assessed ecosystem services through social, biophysical, and economic lenses. An internship at the Worldfish Center in 2009 involved developing a traceability system for shrimp and supporting aquaculture certification efforts. Dieter's academic background includes an MSc in Environmental Science from Wageningen University & Research, a BSc in Bio Engineering from KU Leuven, and prior studies in Latin and Mathematics.
