Hannes Wilms is a researcher at INBO since April 2023, focusing on a project related to indigenous seed orchards, involving the analysis of existing ANB seed orchard networks and the cultivation of materials for new orchards, as well as addressing associated problems. Prior to this role, Hannes served as a voluntary research associate and PhD student at KU Leuven from September 2018 to October 2023, where the main project revolved around developing innovative micropropagation and cryopreservation methods for various plants. Hannes also gained laboratory experience as a job student at VCBT in 2014 and 2015, conducting analyses related to the harvesting of fruits and vegetables. Hannes began academic pursuits at KU Leuven, earning a Bachelor's degree in Bioscience Engineering, followed by a Master's degree, and is currently in the process of completing a PhD in Bioscience Engineering, with a focus on cellular and gene technology.
