Peter Desmet

Peter Desmet has extensive experience in biodiversity informatics and data coordination. Currently serving as the Open Data Coordinator and LifeWatch Project Coordinator at INBO (Research Institute for Nature and Forest) since September 2012, Peter previously held the position of Biodiversity Informatics Manager at the Université de Montréal Biodiversity Centre from September 2008 to August 2012. Peter's earlier role as Data Acquisition Manager at the Belgian Biodiversity Platform from January 2006 to July 2008 involved promoting biodiversity research in Belgium. Peter holds two Master’s degrees from Ghent University, one in Applied Informatics (2004-2005) and another in Biology (2000-2004).
