Derek Risk

Global Cyber Delivery Director at Inchcape

Derek Risk has over two decades of work experience in various IT leadership roles. Derek started their career as the IS Services Director at Whitbread Group PLC, where they managed IT services, telecomms outsource contracts, and internal Oracle support. Derek also led a programme team for group systems change initiatives. After that, they worked as an ICT Consultant at Marriott Hotels Limited and as a Freelance IT Services/Bid Consultant at NCP Services. Derek then joined the Financial Services Authority as the Head of Architecture & Service Management, where they managed internal architecture and service management teams and outsourced contracts. Derek later became a Freelance IT & Communications Consultant at Risk IT Services, providing sourcing and programme management activities for McDonald's and other European operations. Derek then served as the IT Director at Tragus Holdings Ltd, overseeing IT and general business systems across Tragus Group brands. Derek continued their career as the IT Director at Marshall Motor Group before joining Inchcape UK as the IT Director. Derek recently transitioned to Inchcape plc as the Global Cyber Delivery Director, responsible for leading the delivery of cyber and security improvement across 40 markets worldwide. Derek has a strong track record of driving IT transformation and managing cross-functional change initiatives.

Derek Risk obtained a Diploma in Management DipMan from The Open University from 1994 to 1996, and a Certificate in Management from the same university from 1992 to 1994. Derek also earned an HNC Business and Finance degree from Luton College of Higher Education from 1989 to 1991. Prior to that, Derek studied Electronic Engineering at Langside College from 1983 to 1986. Derek'ssecondary education was completed at Johnstone High School from 1978 to 1983, where they acquired A Levels/Highers.
