Steve Hale

Steve Hale has extensive experience in the banking industry, having held various roles at Independent Bank and Huntington National Bank. At Independent Bank, they served as the Vice President of Commercial Banking starting in January 2014. Prior to that, they were the Team Lead of the Commercial Special Assets team from January 2008 to December 2013, where they played a key role in developing departmental policies and procedures. From July 2005 to December 2007, Steve was the VP and Team Leader of Commercial lending for the Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Traverse City markets, implementing staff realignments for improved efficiency. Before joining Independent Bank, they worked at Huntington National Bank as a VP in Commercial Banking from 2003 to 2005 and as the VP of Treasury Management from 1998 to 2003.

Steve Hale earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Financial Management Services from Grand Valley State University in 1986. Steve later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from the same university, completing it in 1993.
