Horacio Soberon-Ferrer has a diverse work experience spanning several roles in the healthcare and finance sectors. Horacio served as the VP Finance CFO at Florida Community Care starting from November 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Independent Living Systems, LLC in various positions, including Director of Medical Economics and Director of Care Transitions, from 2014 to the present. Horacio was also an Executive Council Member at AARP from 2014 to 2015. Before that, Horacio worked as the CFO & Sr. VP Planning and Finance at Alliance for Aging, Inc. from May 2007 to September 2014. Horacio has also worked as a Consultant at Washington Economics Group from 2009 to 2010 and as the Director of Planning and Evaluation at the Florida Department of Elder Affairs from 1999 to 2008. During their early career, they worked as a Professor and Member of the Graduate Faculty at the University of Maryland from 1986 to 1994.
Horacio Soberon-Ferrer completed a Licenciatura degree in Actuaria and an Actuario degree in Actuarial Science from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México from 1972 to 1975. Horacio then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Management Science from the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University from 1979 to 1980. Afterwards, they obtained their Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Clemson University in 1984.
