Andrew Fenton

Market Update Journalist at Independent Reserve

Andrew Fenton has been working in journalism since 2002. Andrew began their career as a Senior Journalist for two regional newspapers, Mountain Views Mail and Upper Yarra Mail. In 2005, they became a Journalist for The Melbourne Weekly, The Melbourne Times, and Fairfax. During this time, they wrote cover stories for Melbourne Weekly Magazine that were syndicated across five other magazines and co-ordinated an interview section for MWM as well as DVD and CD reviews for the group. In 2007, they became a Journalist and Film Writer for The Advertiser. Andrew wrote features and cover stories on a range of topics, from current affairs to art and culture, and was a finalist in the best feature category of the 2010 SA Press Club Awards for 'Veil of Fears'. In 2011, they became the Deputy Editor and Entertainment Producer for the national entertainment sections of News Corp's metropolitan daily newspapers. Andrew oversaw the introduction of the tablet editions for Hit and Switched On and produced content for news.com. From 2017 to 2019, Andrew was self-employed as a Freelance Journalist. Andrew's work included news features for CNN International, opinion pieces for Rendezview (News Corp digital), travel stories for Escape (News Corp print and digital), Adventure.com and The Journal (Intrepid Travel) as well as content for The New Daily. Andrew also wrote the weekly Market Update for Independent Reserve. In 2020, they became the Cointelegraph Magazine Editor, Asia Pacific Editor, and Journalist. Andrew edits Cointelegraph Magazine and writes regular in-depth features about blockchain and cryptocurrency. Andrew is also the supervising editor for Cointelegraph's news shift in the Australian/Asian timezone.

Andrew Fenton has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from RMIT University, where they studied Journalism and Cinema Studies. Andrew also holds a Bachelor of Letters from the University of Melbourne, where they studied Arts, English, Drama, Evolutionary Psychology, and Cinema Studies.
