Dennis Lokkers

Senior Engineering Lead at Index Exchange

Dennis Lokkers has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Dennis began their career at Young Label as a Bartender and catering supplier, where they later transitioned into managing a catering bar at the Amsterdam ArenA. Dennis then worked at Esprit scholen as an IT second line support, providing on-site IT support for the head office of a school board and two connected schools. Dennis managed software packaging and distribution during a migration to a new centralized IT infrastructure.

Following this, Dennis joined Buzzcapture as a Research and software development intern, where they conducted research on automated sentiment analysis, exploring different feature sets to classify Dutch postings. Dennis also researched the effect of the subject of the text in regards to training and accuracy.

Dennis then worked at Dienst Ruimtelijke Ordening Amsterdam as an ICT support, handling call intake and solving calls remotely or on-site. Dennis also registered new users in the system and set them up with AD accounts, appropriate network access, and email addresses.

Continuing their career, Dennis joined OGD as an OSD agent, and later moved to Tatasteel as an IT service support. In these roles, they were responsible for call intake, logging calls in the system, assigning priority, and dispatching calls to resolving teams.

Next, Dennis worked at Wicked Media as a Front End Developer, where they implemented an online planning tool with transparent timezone and daylight saving time features for users across the globe.

Prior to their current role, Dennis joined Casale Media as a Senior Test Engineer, contributing their expertise in software testing.

Currently, Dennis is at Index Exchange, where they have held the positions of Engineering Manager and is now a Senior Engineering Lead.

Dennis Lokkers pursued their education at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). Dennis completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from 2000 to 2008. Subsequently, they furthered their studies at VU Amsterdam and obtained a Master's degree in Technical Artificial Intelligence from 2007 to 2009.
