Jennifer Malachowski

Lower School Principal at Indian Creek School

Jennifer Malachowski has been a part of the ICS community since 1998, and has taught second grade Spanish, as well as sixth, seventh, eighth grade English, math and Spanish classes. She served as the Associate Head of Middle School for 12 years and the Associate Head of Grades 7 & 8 for three years, before transitioning to the role of Lower School Head in 2019. She is the co-creator the BLinc (Blended Learning at Indian Creek) program, and has been involved in the program's design, implementation, and growth since 2014.

Mrs. Malachowski holds her Master of Science degree in Education, with a concentration in Gifted Education, from Johns Hopkins University. She has also earned an Advanced Professional Certificate in Educational Leadership in Independent Schools from Johns Hopkins University. Her Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Saint Mary's University is in Elementary Education.

Mrs. Malachowski was featured as a notable teacher in 2016 What’s Up Annapolis magazine. She regularly presents at conferences including (AIMS, OESIS, NBOA, and Pearson/Cite), and has written a blog for NAIS. Her favorite time, however, is still spent in the classroom interacting with students and teachers. Over her 20+ years of teaching, she has found it the most rewarding to see students grow not only intellectually, but also emotionally, physically, and socially.
