John E Rael

John E Rael is an accomplished healthcare executive currently serving as the Executive Officer for the Albuquerque Area at the Indian Health Service since December 2018, and previously held the position of Director at the Office of Resource Access and Partnerships. Rael has a distinguished career in public health, including service as a Captain with the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service from December 2001 to March 2025, and as CEO of the Albuquerque Indian Health Center from December 2014 to December 2018. Additionally, Rael served in the US Navy as a Medical Service Corps Officer and Corpsman from April 1993 to December 2001. Educational credentials include a Master of Business Administration from New Mexico State University, a Bachelor of Business Administration, and an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Campbell University.
