Uday Desai

Uday Desai is an accomplished academic and industry leader with extensive experience in engineering and academia. Currently serving as a Venture Partner at Riceberg Ventures since February 2025 and as Vice President of the Indian National Academy of Engineering since January 2023, Uday Desai also holds the position of Chancellor at both ICFAI University, Dehradun and Anurag University. As an Honorary Distinguished Professor at Plaksha and Prof. Emeritus and Founding Director at IIT Hyderabad, Uday Desai specializes in wireless communication, wireless sensor networks, signal and image processing, and tele-health. Previous roles include Strategic Consultant at the Telecom Standards Development Society of India and Honorary Professor at Woosong University, in addition to leadership positions at IIT Hyderabad and IITH. Uday Desai earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
