Richard VanLith has a strong background in hospital administration. Richard started their career at JFK Medical Center as the Vice President of Physician and Clinical Services from 1985 to 1996. Richard then moved on to St. Mary's Medical Center and Good Samaritan Medical Center, where they served as the Vice President of System Patient Operations and Administrator for St. Mary's Medical Center from 1996 to 1998. Following this, they held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Bon Secours of Michigan and Bon Secours Cottage Health Services from 1998 to 2005. Richard furthered their career as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer at Boca Raton Regional Hospital from 2005 to 2010. Currently, they are the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Indian River Medical Center since 2010.

Richard VanLith obtained a Bachelor's degree in Natural Science from St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota, where they studied from 1974 to 1978. Richard then pursued a Doctor of Pharmacy - PharmD degree at the University of Minnesota from 1979 to 1983. Additionally, they earned another Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, which they completed between 1979 and 1982.
