Chad Nord has over 18 years of experience in operations, project management, and engineering. Chad began their career in 2001 as a Process Engineer at Ingersoll Rand's Von Duprin division, where they led a cross-functional team to design and implement a mixed model flow line, upgraded dies and fixtures to minimize downtime and scrap, authored 50 product design changes to improve the products and processes, managed ISO documentation, and redesigned extrusion warehouse processes resulting in a 60% reduction in receiving time and 30% increase in inventory accuracy. Chad then moved to Ingersoll Rand's Blaw Knox division as a Project Engineer, where they managed 15 work cell and equipment relocations and supported their startups, worked with outside contractors to acquire materials and complete projects, and collected and analyzed routing and machine data to identify bottlenecks and underutilized equipment.
In 2004, Nord joined MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc. as a Senior Manager of ERP Organizational Change Management, a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and a Project Manager for Martha Stewart Living Cabinetry Launch, where they were responsible for indirectly managing 9 functional Team Leaders that represented all of MBCI to launch a new brand of cabinetry and startup a new manufacturing process within an existing facility. Chad also tracked Pace to Plan and resolved issues within and between teams, coordinated communications between Sales, Customer Service, and Operations during the plant startup, directly supported the Kinston facility for 6 months before and during the startup, tracked spending versus plan and resolved issues for the $6.2MM budget, and provided regular updates to the Steering, Sponsor, and Executive Teams. Chad then moved to MasterBrand Cabinets as a Senior Manager of ERP Manufacturing and OCM.
In 2012, they returned to MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc. as a Director of Project Management, Senior Project Manager, and Best Practices Manager, where they were responsible for training and mentoring Operations leaders in Problem Solving and Lean Methodologies and creating MBCI Best Practices. Chad also led a downtime reduction project on a face frame finish line resulting in a 75% downtime reduction, led a drawer front defect reduction project resulting in a 90% reduction in defects and a Best Practice process that has been utilize across MBCI, and technically evaluated the processes and potential results of PUR cabinet construction for the Shrock/Diamond/Kemper brands.
In 2013, Nord was promoted to Senior Director - Project Management Office, where they were responsible for building a strong PMO that owns all projects within IT and the largest cross functional projects within the company. Chad created a team made of resources with diverse skill sets and backgrounds to enable the best of breed ideas and processes to be implemented. Chad implemented a 4 year ERP program consisting of 11 major projects and 250+ resources within 3 months of the original schedule and $12MM under budget, transformed an IT organization that had no formal project management and was always delivering projects late into one that delivered 36 formal projects in 2016 with 80% on time, managed the IT Project Portfolio to prioritize ideas and allocate resources accordingly, led the 2015 Strategic Planning Process for all of MBCI, mentored the Innovation team to foster a culture that supports innovative solutions, and led the IT recruiting and development program for new college graduates.
In 2017, Nord joined Indiana Furniture as Vice President of Operations.
Chad Nord attended Forest Park Jr-Sr High School from 1994 to 1997. Chad then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, graduating in 2001. In 2007, they obtained a Six Sigma Master Black Belt from MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc. and also holds a Project Management Professional certification.
