Lisa Busse, CFRE, serves as the Vice President of Development at the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites since March 2023. Lisa has extensive experience in fundraising and donor engagement, previously holding significant roles at the United Way of Central Indiana, including Major Gifts Director, where strategies were developed to retain and acquire major donors contributing over $15 million annually. Other notable positions include Chief Development Officer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, where Lisa drove over $2.2 million in annual revenue, and various roles at United Way of Greater Cincinnati, cultivating corporate and individual donor relationships. Lisa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Xavier University and a Master’s degree in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

The Indianapolis museum is located in White River State Park in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. The historic sites are located statewide, stretching from Rome City in northeastern Indiana to Evansville in the southwest.
