Jason Schaffer

Vice President, Chief Medical Information Officer at Indiana University Health

Jason Schaffer has extensive work experience in the field of healthcare and information technology. Jason has worked at Indiana University Health since 2015, initially serving as the Medical Director of Interoperability until 2017. In 2017, they transitioned to the role of Associate CMIO and also took on the position of CMIO, Adult Academic Health Center. In 2020, Jason was promoted to the role of Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer. Prior to working at Indiana University Health, they were an Associate Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine, starting in 2002. Overall, Jason has a diverse background spanning clinical practice, medical education, and informatics.

Jason Schaffer completed their Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at Miami University from 1990 to 1994. Jason then pursued a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine between 1995 and 1999. Recently, from 2015 to 2017, Schaffer obtained a Master's degree in Medical Informatics from Oregon Health & Science University.
