Yongming Deng

Yongming Deng is an accomplished academic with a focus on organic synthesis and catalysis. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at IUPUI since July 2020, Yongming Deng previously held a similar position at Western Kentucky University from August 2017 to June 2020. Prior research experience includes postdoctoral fellowships at The University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of Maryland, where investigations centered on metal-catalyzed reactions involving reactive intermediates and dirhodium catalysts, under the guidance of Professor Michael P. Yongming Deng's academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Miami University, where mentorship roles and research assistant positions involved the design and synthesis of asymmetric catalysts. Education began with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Shandong University.
