Girish Rao, MD, MBA, FACG, AGAF, serves as the Executive Director at Eli Lilly and Company since November 2021, focusing on clinical study protocol development for phase I to IV compounds. Concurrently, Girish Rao holds multiple positions at Indiana University School of Medicine, including Senior Medical Advisor-Design Hub and Adjunct Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, where patient care for children with gastrointestinal and liver disorders is prioritized. As Program Director for the Pediatric Transplant Hepatology Fellowship, notable achievements include leading program accreditation and developing the fellowship curriculum. Girish Rao has been involved as Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator in over 30 clinical studies related to liver diseases. Additionally, experience at Indiana University Health included serving as Medical Director of Pediatric Liver Transplantation, successfully enhancing transplant volumes and clinical outcomes through a multidisciplinary approach and quality initiatives.
