Matthew Paiz has a diverse work experience in software engineering and development. From 2011 to 2018, they worked at various companies and educational institutions. In 2011, they worked as a Student Research Assistant at New Mexico Tech, where they developed algorithms in CUDA, methods for symbolic regression, and methods to allow genetic algorithms to better detect local minima convergence using neural networks. In 2012, they worked as a Member Technical Staff at Salesforce.com, where they directly contributed to the foundations of the Force.com platform by working on Apex. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as the Chief Software Architect at Quantum Energy Storage Corporation, where they enabled Quantum to rapidly develop a 120kWH flywheel energy storage system in under a year by designing a modular embedded controls platform. In 2015, they co-founded FitTech Software, where they designed and developed their main product, Athex, in Swift and took it from idea to the App Store in less than a year. Finally, from 2018 to present, they have been working as a Senior Software Engineer at Indica Labs, where they have developed and supported numerous micro services leveraging technologies like ASP.NET, AWS, MySQL, Entity Framework, React, OIDC, and GraphQL.
