Pae W

Pae W has an extensive work experience history. They started their career as a Research Assistant at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique in 2002. They later worked as a Research Assistant and Graduate Assistant Coach at Duke University from 2003 to 2009. Pae W then co-founded the DOUGHMAN Organizing Committee, where they served as Co-founder and Chair, organizing a fundraising event that raised over $50,000 for local non-profit programs.

They went on to work at Duke University again as a Research Scientist and Academic Leadership Fellow in 2009. From 2011 to 2016, Pae W worked at Berberian & Company, serving as a Lead Biotechnologist and Scientific Consultant to DARPA.

In 2016, Pae W joined the Office of Naval Research as a Science Director | ONR Global, where they were responsible for scouting technology, developing strategies, and coordinating research collaborations in Singapore and Australia.

In 2018, Pae W became the Scientific Director at Alpha, where they led innovation projects in various sectors for Telefónica.

More recently, in 2020, Pae W took on the role of General Partner at SOSV and Chief Technical Officer at IndieBio.

Pae W has a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Materials Science and Applied Physics from Duke University. Prior to that, they obtained a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
