Dan Leonard has a diverse work experience in the entertainment industry. Dan began their career as the Founder/President of Literacy Through Cinema, a position they held from 2007 to 2013.
In 2014, they worked as a Development Manager at Captivate Entertainment, LLC, and then moved on to Middle Kid, Inc. where they served as a Development Manager from 2015 to 2016.
From 2016 onwards, Leonard held several different roles at various companies. Dan worked as a Producer at Bumble, Die Antwoord Consulting, and Sony Music Entertainment, in 2016. In the same year, they also served as a Producer/Director at Indigenous, where they were later promoted to Supervising Producer and then Series Producer before becoming the Executive Producer. During their time at Indigenous, they successfully produced the acclaimed series 60 Second Docs, which garnered 9.8 billion total views.
In 2017, Leonard took on the role of Director for various companies, where they created award-winning branded documentary spots and TV spots for prominent brands like Cadillac, Lionsgate, Focus Features, Red Bull, and AT&T. Dan continued in this position until the present, achieving over 210 million views across social media platforms.
Recently, in 2023, Leonard was appointed as the Executive Vice President of Unscripted at Indigenous.
Dan Leonard earned their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Producing from The American Film Institute in 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theatre at Hamilton College from 2000 to 2004.
