David Nothmann

Head, Biological Solutions at Indigo

David Nothmann leads Indigo’s global Biologicals business unit, focusing on improving profitability and soil health for farmers via microbials and proprietary application devices. He’s responsible for charting the product roadmap, overseeing global commercial operations, and aligning biological innovation with Indigo’s sustainability platform.

With more than 25 years of experience in the food and agriculture industries, David has held leadership roles across start-ups and multinationals, ranging from B2B to B2C companies. David has led commercialization efforts across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. His strategic expertise in customer-centric product development, go-to-market execution, and long-range planning has driven 65+ product launches, and contributed to $80M in operational savings throughout his career.

Before Indigo, he held executive roles at Unfold Bio (Chief Operating Officer, acquired by Bayer), Terramera (Chief Revenue Officer), Valent (VP Marketing), ArborGen, Battelle, Monsanto, and most recently, NoDL Advisors.

He continues to serve as an Independent Board Director at 3Bar Biologics, and as an advisor to AgroSpheres and Quorum Bio. He also remains actively engaged in the industry as an Executive Ambassador for Agriculture Future of America and a Round Table Fellow at the Farm Foundation. David was a founding member and former president of the Fulbright Academy of Science & Technology.

David holds an MBA from New York University and a BA from Tufts University.
