Adam Hender

Adam Hender has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Starting in 1989, they co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Insomnia Productions, focusing on graphic design for internet and magazine publication. In 1990, they joined BHP Minerals as a Geological Technical Officer and Database Administrator, where they introduced GIS to operations in North Western Australia and the Northern Territory. From 1994 to 1995, Hender worked at Micromine Pty Ltd, where they established the Exploration Resource Centre (ERC) and managed a team in developing GIS software products for the mining industry. Adam then joined World Geoscience Corporation as a GIS/Image Processing Manager and Senior Research Scientist, managing a team in designing and implementing GIS software and databases for clients worldwide. In 1998, Hender became the General Manager of GeoSys GIS Consultants, responsible for daily operations and generating new business. In 1999, they joined ESRI Australia as an Account Manager, specializing in enterprise and geoscience. From 2001 to 2005, Hender served as an Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer at NGIS Australia, overseeing R&D efforts and product development. Since 2005, they have been the CEO of Indji Systems, responsible for the overall running and profitability of the business in Australia and the USA.

Adam Hender pursued their education at Curtin University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Geology from 1988 to 1992. Adam continued their studies at the same university and completed a Graduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from 1991 to 1993. Before attending university, Adam attended Applecross in 1982 and 1983, but no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this period.
