Nik Nunes has a diverse range of work experience in various positions. Nik started their career at GE in 1990 as a Managing Director, where they worked for 25 years until 2015. In 2015, Nik became the Chief Executive Officer at Industrial Development Funding, LLC, and has been in this role since then. In 2016, they joined Perella Weinberg Partners as a Partner, and they held this position until May 2018.

Nik Nunes pursued their education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business, during the period of 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Materials Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, from 1992 to 1994.
