Mark Ewen started their work experience in 1994 as an Intern at the Congressional Budget Office. In 1994, they also worked as a Research Assistant at the Economic Development Corporation of Lansing, MI. In 1995, they became a Statistics Teaching Assistant at the University of Michigan. Later in 1995, they joined Industrial Economics as the Principal and Chief Operating Officer.

Mark Ewen began their education in 1988 at the University of North Dakota, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science. Mark successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 1992. Following this, Ewen attended the University of Michigan from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained a Master's degree in Public Policy (MPP). During their time at the University of Michigan, their field of study focused on Economics and Applied Quantitative Methods.
