Paul Salzer

Paul Salzer has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries. Paul is currently an Application Engineer at QC Group, LLC and Industrial Inspection & Analysis. In their previous role as an HDS Scanning Engineer at Trex Commercial Products, they traveled to job sites to collect as-built data using a high definition laser scanner and registered the collected data using Lieca Reg360 and Autodesk Recap. Paul also cleaned and created meshes of data in 3DReshaper. Additionally, they worked as a Design Engineer III at Trex Commercial Products, where they designed architectural metal and glass railing systems, created structure and component models using Inventor, and utilized AutoCAD for layout designs. Before that, they were a Product Design Engineer at GrimmSpeed, where they developed new performance car parts from conception to packaging, collected measurements using coordinate measuring machines, and designed and modeled new products in SolidWorks. Paul also has experience as a Mechanical Engineer-Field Engineer at Lake Superior Consulting, where they provided engineering support to liquid pipeline construction activities and evaluated, designed, and repaired cathodic protection systems. Furthermore, they served as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Clearwater Composites, where they provided manufacturing support, applied lean manufacturing tactics, and developed tooling and production procedures for new products. In addition to their engineering roles, they worked as a Vacation Home Attendant at Big Sky Resort and as a Climbing Guide at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where they mentored and led participants on outdoor and indoor climbing outings, taught safe climbing techniques, and practiced site management and risk mitigation.
