Machine Learning Lead at IndyKite

Daniel Bakkelund has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Daniel is currently working as a Machine Learning Lead at IndyKite since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at TechnipFMC as a Specialist Data Analyst from July 2016 until September 2022. Daniel also had a research role as a PhD research fellow at DataScience@UiO, part of the University of Oslo - The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, from February 2017 to June 2022.

Before their research role, Daniel worked at FMC Technologies as a Specialist Engineer, Analysis from September 2012 to June 2016. Daniel gained experience as a Project Engineer at Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS from March 2011 to September 2012, where they focused on mathematical modeling, algorithm design, and implementation.

Daniel started their career at Technogarden Engineering Resources AS as a Specialist before being assigned as a consultant to Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. Daniel worked at Technogarden Engineering Resources AS from August 2010 to March 2011.

Prior to that, Daniel was a System Architect at Telenor from October 2002 to August 2010. Daniel started their career as a Technical Architect at djuice.com from January 2001 to October 2002, where they specialized in J2EE architecture and lead programming.

Daniel's earliest work experience was as a System Developer at ABB Industri, ABB AS from September 1998 to December 2000. During this time, they were involved in developing HMI products for safety systems in high-risk application areas such as oil rigs and refineries.

Daniel Bakkelund has a strong education background in the field of mathematics and data science. Daniel completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Data Science at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 2017 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mathematics also from the University of Oslo (UiO) between 2004 and 2008. In 1995 to 1997, they pursued Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Oslo (UiO), although no specific degree was mentioned. In their earlier years, from 1993 to 1994, they studied Mathematics and Chemistry at UiT- The Arctic University of Norway.
