Marius Buibas

Vice President of Product Innovation, CTO at Indyme Solutions

Marius Buibas has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple roles and industries.

Marius is currently the Vice President of Product Innovation and CTO at Indyme Solutions since 2023.

Previously, from 2015 to 2023, they were a Co-Founder and CTO at Accel Robotics. In this role, they raised over $50M in funding, managed a team of 40, and led the development of autonomous store systems. Marius also oversaw product teams in AI, cloud, software/firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineering, achieving best-in-class reliability and low hardware and operating costs.

Before that, from 2011 to 2015, Marius worked at Brain Corporation. Marius served as the Director of Engineering, leading the development of the EyeRover mobile robot system. Marius also designed and developed the bStem single-board computer for small smart robots, implementing biologically inspired vision and AI algorithms.

Marius began their professional career at Hewlett-Packard in 1997, where they worked as a Hardware Engineer. Marius gained expertise in thermal inkjet technologies and contributed to various development and production areas.

Earlier, from 1993 to 1997, they worked as a Software Quality Engineer at Accelrys. In this role, they developed automated system testing frameworks and installer software, as well as provided customer support.

Marius also has research experience, having worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, San Diego. During their tenure, they focused on developing nonparametric estimation methods, network analysis, and optimizing information processing in biological systems.

Overall, Marius Buibas has a strong background in product innovation, engineering, research, and leadership roles within the tech industry.

Marius Buibas obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego between 1991 and 1996. Later, they pursued further education and successfully completed their PhD in Bioengineering at UC San Diego from 2005 to 2011.
