Julia Cravo

Julia Cravo has extensive experience in the field of statistics. Julia began their career in 1988 as the Section Coordinator for Industrial Statistics at Statistics Portugal, where they worked until 1996. Following this role, Julia became the Head of the Business Register Unit and Sampling Methods at Statistics Portugal from 1998 to 2006. In 2007, they joined the Scandinavian Consortium for Statistics SCANSTAT as an Adviser until 2017. During this time, they also worked as a Senior Statistician at INE - Statistics Portugal from 2017 to 2019. Currently, Julia serves as the Head of the Sectoral Business Statistics Unit at INE since December 2019.

Julia Cravo completed their doctoral studies in Applied Economics and Spatial Econometrics at the Universidad de Extremadura from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Probabilities and Statistics with a specialization in Sampling from the University of Lisbon between 1990 and 1992. Julia's educational journey began at the Instituto Superior Técnico, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from 1982 to 1987.
