Alcibíades Paulo Guedes has a diverse work experience. Alcibíades Paulo started their career in 1986 as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto. Alcibíades Paulo then joined Porto Business School in 1995, where they held various roles such as Professor and Deputy Dean. In 2010, they joined INEGI Porto as an Executive Vice-President and later became the President of the Board and CEO. Additionally, Guedes served as the President of the Board for APLOG - Associação Portuguesa de Logística from 2012 to 2018. Alcibíades Paulo also held the position of Member of the Board at NET - Business and Innovation Centre do Porto from 2008 to 2015. Guedes is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto and also serves as the Industrial Engineering and Management (Licenciatura) Programme Director.
Alcibíades Paulo Guedes holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Distribution and Logistics from Cranfield School of Management, which they completed from 1990 to 1994. Alcibíades Paulo also obtained a Master's degree in Distribution Technologies & Management from the same institution, completing it from 1988 to 1989. Prior to that, Guedes completed a Post-Graduation in Industrial Engineering & Management from INEGI in 1987. Alcibíades Paulo began their academic journey by earning an Engineer's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, which they completed from 1981 to 1986. In addition, Guedes completed a Positive Management Immersion Program in Leadership from IE Business School in 2017.
