Alan Kelly

Alan Kelly is a seasoned academic with extensive experience in food science, having served as a Professor at University College Cork, Ireland from June 2008 to May 2016, where roles included Interim Director of the Quality Promotion Unit and Dean of Graduate Studies. In September 2023, Alan Kelly took on the positions of Head of the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences and Vice-Dean of External Engagement in the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science at University College Cork. With a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Dublin City University (1986-1990) and a PhD in Food Technology from University College Cork (1990-1995), Alan Kelly combines a strong educational background with significant leadership experience in higher education.
