Benan Akça

Benan Akça has worked in various roles since 2013. Benan started their career as an Electronic Officer in the Turkish Navy, and was later promoted to Warship Commander. In 2019, they joined Marmara University as an Applied Research Scientist for the TUBITAK 2244 program and as a Doctoral Student. In 2020, they became the Head of Data Science at emoty AI, where they worked on eye tracking and facial emotion recognition. In 2021, they joined Inference Analytics, Inc. as a Senior Data Scientist.

Benan Akça has a diverse educational background. From 2008 to 2013, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Deniz Harp Okulu. From 2017 to 2019, they obtained a Master's degree in Data Science from Turkish National Defense University. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD(c) in Data Science from Marmara University, which they are expected to complete in 2022. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Coursera in Deep Learning Specialization, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, and Machine Learning.
