Jonathan Carmel

Jonathan Carmel is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in venture capital and asset management. Currently serving as an Operating Partner at Impact Venture Capital since November 2022, Carmel advises portfolio companies on growth strategies and is involved in raising capital for the firm's third VC fund. Previously, as a Senior Director at Collective[i], Jonathan contributed to the go-to-market strategy and authored numerous business white papers, while also sourcing significant business opportunities. Carmel has held leadership roles at Arbiter Partners, where investment themes were developed for a $1.4 billion fund, and at Angelo Gordon, where Jonathan managed a credit long/short fund and a convertible bond arbitrage portfolio. Jonathan's earlier experience includes positions at JP Morgan Chase, focusing on fixed income derivatives. Carmel co-founded Carmel Asset Management, a global macro hedge fund that outperformed its index. Jonathan holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Brown University.
