David Jaffe began their career in 1980 working as a Bicycle Messenger for Redco Radio Rangers in San Francisco. In 1987 they became a Research Assistant Professor at Purdue University, Department of Mathematics, and two years later moved to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, taking up the role of Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. In 2000, they moved to the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, assuming the position of Director of Computational Research and Development in the Genome Sequencing and Analysis Program. david remained in this role until 2015 when they joined 10X Genomics as a Computational Biology Fellow. david's most recent role is that of Co-Founder at Infinimmune, beginning in 2022.
David Jaffe received their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics from San Francisco State University in 1981, after studying there between 1977-1981. david then went on to the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mathematics (algebraic geometry) in 1987.
