Orion Hanbury has an extensive work experience in the field of technology and chemical engineering. Orion is currently serving as the Vice President of Technology at Infinium since January 2022. In this role, they are responsible for leading the development of commercial scale catalyst for renewable syngas generation and the creation of next-gen renewable drop-in replacement fuels for vehicles and aviation.

Prior to their current role, Orion worked at Greyrock from 2014 to January 2022, where they held the positions of Vice President of Technology and Director of Chemical Engineering. In these roles, they directed the development of process design for direct fuel production gas-to-liquids facilities and led the design of controls for catalytic reactors and overall process. Orion was also involved in the procurement, testing, validation, and research of heterogeneous catalysis.

Orion's career started at the University of Nevada Reno in 2010, where they worked as a Graduate Student. During this time, they focused on research projects related to geothermal energy plants, solar energy storage, and modeling of chemical reactions and heat transfer.

In 2012, they joined the Renewable Energy Institute International as a Research Engineer, where they worked until 2014.

Orion Hanbury obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno in the years 2006 to 2010. Following this, they pursued further education at the same institution and received a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from 2010 to 2017.
